Another way to help us is to get the word out that AIDS is still a problem. People are still getting infected, and the disease still has no “cure”. Through the license plate program and the Drag Bingo and Alliance merchandise below, you can help remind people that AIDS hasn’t gone away, and the Alliance is continuing its work combating the disease.
License Plates: We are gathering enough supporters to get the license plates issued. This would be one of the best – and practically free – sources of free advertising we’d have. But we need your help. We need over 300 people to apply for the plates before they will be issued. You can help us get one plate closer.
With your help, the “Red Ribbon” AIDS Awareness license plate can be a reality! After the Alliance receives 300 applications and checks for $25 (or $55 for personalized), the DMV will produce and mail out the plates, and I hope that many of us will be driving around with them. I am excited that North Carolina is only one of a small handful of states that has such a plate, and we looking forward to using this new venue to remind the public that AIDS is not over.
